Established in 2009, Fresh Fruit is owned and managed by a Belgian family with its headquarters and plantations located in the Dominican Republic. Beginning by exporting organic bananas to Europe, the company grew exponentially with founder Julie calling in assistance from her brother, Thomas. They also benefitted from the insight of their father, Pol and his 40 years of experience in the fruit and banana industry. With their export business booming, they decided to pursue their own organic plantation.
Later on her sister Sarah and brother-in-law Ruben also moved to the Dominican Republic to enforce the management team in Marketing & Engineering.
The unique family ownership and management structure enables the Fresh Fruit management team to live and work in the Dominican Republic. This allows for more control, better flexibility and a stronger relationship with farmers. At the same time, the office in Belgium ensures a strong European vision and market knowledge as well as superior customer service; the staff at this site also manage finances, insurances and the various certifications Fresh Fruit is proud to have been awarded.
